EOC: Week 7 Biggest challenge to complete my business plan

I feel that the biggest challenge to completing my business plan would be looking for all the legal paper for starting a new business. I understand that this challenge is petty but I feel that creating a business plan of something that you are so involved and is your passion should not be difficult at all. This business plan had its challenges but challenges that help understand the reasons for being involved in photography.

These easy steps to our business plan detail tons of information that will help my photography business to be successful.

Another challenge that I did confront would be networking my business to banks. Not having the confidence that I need to poses is hurting me at this time and is something that I need to overcome for banks to be able to give me their opinion about how my business plan could work in the publics eye.

Week 6 EOC:Ron Galella, first amendment

Having the opportunity to take a look at how Ron works is a great way of how others interfere others private life. I understand that we have a freedom to be able to do what we need to do for a way to bring income, but the form of way Ron and other paparazzi’s work is an invasion of privacy.

I feel that the first amendment is being abused when a paparazzi is defending himself in front of the court of law. I feel that in some case they are taking part of their journalistic duties but the way they capture the image is what is damaging to others. Coming out of bushes, or destroying private property by making a hole in there hedge or climbing a tree is a form that will provoke mental stress to the subject that is being photograph.

I feel that restraining orders help the subject only to some degree. The paparazzi will raise the measures more now then before because the subject’s photo is going to be worth more. I feel that there should be a law that prohibits paparazzi’s of not being in clear view of the subject. Being able to be in clear view will allow that subject to protect themselves by any means necessary.

With all this said, I dislike the work of paparazzi’s, but it is work and it is some type of art in their eyes. The after math of the paparazzi is remarkable and interesting.

Week 5 EOC: Horse race and Unicorns

When I first started thinking about a business, I had trouble to pin point exactly what genre I would like to follow. I come from an artistic family and I try to not make photography as a work thing, but just like everything, we need to make money of what we do. With that said, I am thinking of starting a studio that concentrates with portrait photography and event photography. I also would like to start a chain of studios that will be contracted all along the west coast to high priority clients. I would like to be able to have a main photographer at each studio and one assistant. Later I would like to have a team of five individuals in a studio to be able to capture, process, and print and also be able to have a regional sales man for the entire region.

Week 5: Four Photographers

Jeremy Cowart

What I enjoyed a lot about Jeremy website was his portfolio about women and iPhoneography. At first I didn’t understand what he meant as iPhoneography, but I guess there is a new wave and a start to this genre. This front of the website is the photographers face which sells him a lot rather then his photos and I enjoy that. The design to his website is also great. I feel that this site would be a business site.

Mitchell Kanashkevich

Mitchell website is very basic but yet to the point. I feel that his genre of photography is based on traveling street photography or journalism. I will admit that all his images are breath taking with a great amount of meaning and they are rich with color. The expressions on his subject’s portray a story line that identifies the location of the photograph. Mitchell site would be a business site

Joon Brandt

I adore Joon’s work. A lot of his work reminds me of Sandy Skoglund’s early work and also David LaChapelle work. Tons of Joon’s work has a great amount of humorous. The images of Joon are all computer edited and in great quality. I had a hard time with Joo’s site but I do feel that this is a business site.

Fredrick Clement

This website is my least favorite. I had a hard time navigating the website to find out who the photographer was and also it took up to much time to navigate his portfolio. Some of his images was not exactly the most impressive in my opinion. I felt they had very low lighting and also hard to read to exactly what they were. Fredrick site to me was a glamour site.

Week 5 BOC: Who won the Super Bowl?

While reading foxnews.com, they reported the two corporations that made out well during the super bowl was Version mobile and Disney. Reports are saying that this Super bowl was televised thru television and also mobile devices with the help of Verizon mobile. 100 million viewers was the estimated total with the help of Version Wireless.

Also, Disney made well, with having volunteers in the customer service department. It was reported that the customer service at the Super Bowl was “flawless”

Many have thought that the commercials were the highlight of the event but not this year with all the commercials accessible thru online access weeks before the game. With all this said, Version was the real winner in the Super Bowl.

Week 4: EOC 3 Scary legal issues

The first scary legal issue for me would be contracts to clients. Constructing a contract for a large corporate project seems to me that the corporation would have the upper hand on the contract. A great amount of questions come to mind while thinking of what I need to discuss and what doesn’t need to be discussed. A great way to try to get great advice would be a contract lawyer and maybe hire them to construct a contract for the situation.

The second issue would be rates. Having the minimal knowledge of rates does not help my business. What would be too much and what would be too less. Pricing hourly rates from other photographers would be a great idea to start and try to compare pricing but trying to conclude prices to a heavy project would be something that I would need to experience for myself.

The last issue is clients. What clients should I get and where should I get clients. I decided this issue to be my last due to it would be my least concern. Being able to socialize and out spoken gives me the advantage to capture my next potential client. The problem would be who would be a great client and if they are would I be able to recognize who is a great client.

These issues are my concern, would I say that they are a great and major concern. Time will only tell if they are or not. The only way to over come these issues would just throw myself in the situation and experience it.

EOC Week 3 Where am I now, where will I be going

At the moment I see myself as a struggling father that is looking for his way back home to the heart of my daughter. There are many challenges to accomplish that goal and with the all the struggle and challenges, I feel that the outcome will be powerful to me.

During my short time here in Las Vegas, I have juggled many opportunities that lead me to my minor success that is leading me to accomplish my goal. Also during my time here in Las Vegas, I also have adjusted myself to be able to hold my insanity in place and be able to concentrate and lose track.

I have many thoughts of where I going to be. Should I go back to my original state or should I travel and give others the opportunity to visit my location and be able to explore. My mentality to everything is helping others while I succeeding from my talent. The bottom line for this answer is to reach my goal and become the successful street/fashion photographer. I feel no matter what, my love ones will be satisfied to my choice of location. I feel that this question was to describe what my goals will be and where my goals are now.

My goals are in process and they are in full throttle. I feel that my personal life is keeping up with them and in the long run my personal life and my goal will be in satisfaction.

Haute Couture

As I walk in the path as a fashion photographer, I find myself searching for techniques on how to perform in great speeds so that I could have less time in the studio and more time on the drawing boards.

As a fashion photographer it was something that I never thought of becoming. While picking up the camera, professionally, fashion was not one of the genres that came to my mind. I always had sports photography on my mind; due to the love of sports that I have. While attending Arts Institute of Las Vegas, I was told by instructors that having such passion for sports, would find it’s difficulties during the game. Sports, is something that is part of my life and my families and it was not about to get ruin with my selfishness.

Some friends that are heavily involved in fashion design first introduced fashion photography to me. I was always confronted to take pictures of models for their clothing design. Understanding on how to organize a shoot, in a studio or on location, getting familiar with makeup artist, and fashion designers, and searching for the right model are some of the key elements to gather for a shoot.

Attempting my own fashion shoot without the help of instructors, I found it difficult to control my subject (model). All the models that I hired, under a “trade for” shoots were all amateurs and had no clue to how to even start a pose or how to follow the next pose. I understood the lighting position and the settings for my camera but found it difficult to try to come up with a pose that will lead to the next myself.

Being able to learn from others mistakes only make you more knowledgeable. Participating in seminars brought me new ideas to my performance. WPPI (wedding portrait and photography international) showed me a technique that I thought was great for my career.

The "Fast Pose" technique is very popular in the world of wedding photography. By using this technique it allows more one on one time with the client and the photographer.

In today's weddings, the client has adjusted to get done with time with the photographer and be able to return to the ceremony. So photographers came up with a way to be able to shoot 25 images in a short amount of time.

This technique only made my time with the model shorter but also it allowed me to look at my mistakes before the time for editing which is a very important, in case you need to have the subject move a centimeter to the left or right. Depending on the concept, they're are agencies that will charge a great amount for just an hour or two with the model; and that is another element that is now being used properly.

While attempting to execute this technique, “Fast Pose” I have found the first attempt to be a challenge. Later on in the shoot it adjusted to my benefit. Researching easy poses and following with a pose that didn't allow it to have any similarity was the challenge. This editorial book about poses will show you how to start a shoot with a simple pose to finalize it with an amazing pose that will leave your clients in shock.

You may feel that digital editing will improve your image but truth is the less your edit your image the faster you will return your final product to your client. Fast outcome is the lesson to “Fast Pose”. This technique does not only eliminate time in the studio but it eliminates processing time for your product. We as photographers need to push our work out of our studios to our clients quickly, so we can start with a new project. Understanding this type of method will bring your studio more clientele and also better equipment.

I will start the book with a simple stand in pose and lead you with hand movement and why the hand would be position at that general location. That is the key element to starting a photo shoot, you must locate an easy and strong pose to structure the photo shoot to end it with a final strong pose.

A lot of these poses are very generic but if you find the creativity that you posses inside, these poses will lead to great shots. I shot all my poses in studio, so you, the reader, can view and understand more about that pose. Great lighting Next, I will speak on leg position and try to point out the advantages on why it should be place there and help that position with the lighting to the subjects face and upper torso and also point out the clothing the subject is wearing. I will finish of the book with a final pose that will help your image be on the top and become front cover worthy or store front worthy. Understanding the simple key elements to position of any body part and the help of lighting to the models facial expression are all key elements that will help the designer with his art.

My voice

Deciding to walk the path as a photographer, it has opened many doors and many questions. The biggest question that comes up first to all photographers is what type of photography I will pursuit.

The time I spent well, at the Art Institute of Las Vegas, opened the door to my decision of genre in photography. Having the opportunity to be taught by outstanding instructors with techniques and procedures, lead me to fashion photography. I have that this genre excites me with anticipation to accomplishing the best image for the client. Fashion photography also allows me to reach in the center of my passion and express my talent and skills to show the public the designer's creativity.

Fashion photography puts me in a state of mind that allows me to show the public's eye what great design the clothing is offering to the world.

By spending countless on an idea brings many opportunities for many creative designers. Usually a photos hoot is based on model and photographer but we all know that there are dozens of people that participate in a photo shoot.

My dedication with my talent has captured and created fantasy worlds that leave the public with amazement. My dedication, talent, art, and presentations will lead you to my world of photography.

Week Ten: What Channels are you going to use to get your product noticed

Lucid Corporation feels that the large percentage of our customers will be on the web. We will also have advertisements on the television and radio but we feel that we can have a connection with our customers if we advertise in the web. Becoming involved with our customers will lead us to starting up pages on all social networks and also need to speak to web advertisement companies like goggle and yahoo and MSN to be able to have some space in their front page. We understand that all this time on the web will be costly for us at first but in the long run we feel that all this advertisement will pay off.

Lucid Corporation is also thinking about going to upcoming events and setting up a booth that will have a lot of sampling and free merchandise to be able to distribute our name out to the public and be able to spread our name out to the public.

Famous lemon ad for Volkswagen

I found the ad very interesting. It starts off by admitting that there is a few flaws to there product. With that said, you would imagine that with those words will drive customers away from there product. I feel that Volkswagen made a bold move to announce something like that. Later on in the ad it specifies how they produce a great amount of vehicals in a day. "3000 cars a day." That shows the mass production that the factory in Wolfsburg, Germany. They also hve inspectors that will inspect a 140 inspection to each vehicle and will not allow to leave the line without passing those inspection. That creates value to the beetle. During the fifties, having a vehicle inspected was very unlikely. They took time to be sure that the product to the customers is 100% efficent for the road. That's the way Volkswagen has done since the first day Adolf Hitler had asked Ferdinand Porsche to build a car "for the people" Das Auto

Week 9: Three great mission statements

I have read our classmates mission statements and found the three that I have selected more interesting and persuasive for me to enjoy their beer. I feel that they did a great job on describing the style of beer they are offering.

Bitches’ Brews mission is to sell delicious and remarkable drinks that appeal to the feminine pallet. The drinks we sell meet the highest standards of quality and freshness and combine both modern and traditional styles of brewing with creativity. To consistently provide our customers with impeccable service by demonstrating: efficiency, knowledge, professionalism and integrity in our work. To create and maintain a brewery that is comprehensive and exceptional in its attention to every detail of operation. To keep our concept fresh, exciting and on the cutting edge of the brewing industry!

This company provided a great amount of information about who they are targeting and the class of beer they are providing. The vocabulary they used to inform was at it's highest peek to explain that they are searching for the VIP within the person.

Glatt is a craft brew house that is committed to brewing an experience. A cocoa and roasted almond adult flavored beverage that is brewed locally and made with imported ingredients and a passion for beer. You have found the exceptional product for the exceptional drinker. Glatt is not for the masses, it is made for the passionate few that understand what a beer can and should be.

Glatt brewery sounds a lot more of tradition style of beer. Targeting a traditional drinker with satisfaction. Even thou they did not describe much about the ingredents of the beer still found the goal to grab my curiosity for this beer.

Desire the feel of escaping to someplace that more often then not is far from reality. Desejo beer, wants to take you away to experience the lavishing tropical feel of relaxation with just a soothing taste from a bottle. Our desire is to make you realize that you don't always have to get away in order to experience relaxation. As soon as you see our beer in the cooler your eyes will be invigorated with the royal blue color scheme guiding your imagination to tropical climates and emotions.

I found this to be the top of my three. Save the best for last is what I think. I feel that Jen did a great job on taking me away from reality and entering in a fantasy world that I would enjoy to be in. When I'm enjoying a beer with my friends, I woul like to have this on my mind before I have my bottle open to be enjoyed and taken away from everyday life.

Week 8: Creating Content Project

I am going to start off by making my own label. The label will have Calibri font with Light blue coloring so it could show the effect of it being cold and clear at the same time. Next, I will find a clear smooth bottle and pour clear liquid to show the effect of clear beer inside of the bottle. The label will be placed on the side of the bottle. Next will be the beer photo shoot. I have two concepts. The first concept will be to take the bottle with the label to Mt. Charleston and shoot in the snow. I will keep the wilderness theme to be able to create an earthy look. The second shoot will have a model that will be dressed with a white bikini. This shoot will take place at the studio and I will be using a high key affect. By doing this affect with this bottle will allow me to have an over exposed look and will stay with the clear theme. The model will be a Caucasian to have the clear theme to it. There will be a three light shoot. Two light boxes and one hair light. After the shoot is done, I will take the image to our Mac computer and use CS5 photo shop and edit the image to have the clear theme. These images will be all in Raw files so that I could get all the clarity and description in that image.

Implemention Evaluation Control

Implementing Lucid beer to the public will be a challenge. We believe if Lucid Corporation finds a great distributor and advertises well to the public, we will have a great chance in this competitive world of brewery. We understand that there is a lot of compitition and we feel that we have a great chance to succeed due to our new look on our product that many have not seen yet in the market.

Going door to door will be out of the question but building booths at place of sales and handing out taste testers will give us the reaction that we need to know where we are going wrong with our product.

There are many brewery establishments in the Las Vegas Valley and a variety of establishments that sell alcohol. Lucid Corporations believe with this type of advantage, we will over come with our new product outbin the publics eyes.

The STRENGTH of Lucid Corporation is that our product is Noe familiar to the publics choice. We feel that as soon as our advertisments and the word of our fans. Our product will be on top with all other top selling beers. Lucid corp. has researched countless hours on searching for clear beer and have found very few out in the market. With that said, we feel that introducing clear beer to the market, will interest many and pass the word on how great the taste and perfect the color satisfies them.

The WEAKNESS of Lucid beer is not really a factor for us. We feel that our product will only catch the customers eyes. There has been a top selling corporation that has tried introducing this type of product and did not succeed. We feel that this was introduced at the wrong time. It may be intimidating to try again with a product that failed but we are satisfied with all that has been produced.

Our OPPURTUNITY for starting here in the Vegas Valley with our new product is very simple. We feel since this city is always visited with visitors from all over the world will only give us the advantage of passing the word to others. The clearity and great taste of our product will catch the interest and will be spoken to others from all over the world.

The only THREAT that Lucid Beer will have are foriegn corporations that will try to replicate the satisfaction of the clarity and the amazing taste of our beer.

Week 6 EOC: Me times three

The first product care that I use is Jergens Naturals Ultra Hydrating. I believe that this product is targeted to those that have very dry skin. I use this product for that reason. I work with chemicals all day everyday and sometimes those chemicals tend to dry my skin very bad. I feel that Jergens Hydrating lotion helps my hands feel smoother for the ladies. As far as Jergens grabbing my attention for this product was mainly easy. I saw a commercial for this product and heard that its soothes dryness and when I tried it, it worked well.

The second choice will be Charms toilet paper. This takes care of all my needs under uncomfortable situations. This product grabs customers with commercials that inform viewers of the comfort they provide. I feel that they are doing a great job with advertising there product

Taking a quick look at the Census report that was provided to me, I could see that almost all the citizens in the United States are covered of some type of insurance. Whether it is the 82.5% of males that are covered by some type of insurance or the 85.8% of women, that concludes a large portion of our population in the United States. Now the question is if our nationality is affected of it. 66.2% of individuals are being covered by some sort of insurance. 55% of them are not even citizens.

I believe that the health care in the United States is trying its best with the demands that the population is asking for. With the numbers that are being shown, it seems to me that they are meeting the demand.

Each region has around 80% that are being covered by some sort of insurance. The true argument is directly buying private insurance. It shows that individuals, weather man or women, over the age of 65. Has the percentage of an average of 25%. Those individuals are able to purchase private insurance from income that is being provided by other means. Now the numbers to individuals that are under 65 is much lower. They are looking at about 7% to 8% OF American population. That is the type of health care that will solve health problems. Being under government care will only allow you to 20% of the cost to each performance. 80% of it will come out of pocket or some other way. Sometimes the health care that is being provided will not cover any of the practice.

Kids of infant till the age of 18 are being covered by some type of health care but again there are some type of regulations and restrictions. The argument is not that we are not being provided by health care but the argument is what we are being provided with.

Photography to me is a form of meditation. When I go out to a fashion shoot or out shooting landscape, I exit myself from reality. Being able to focus on my talent and being able to take my image out of the box from other photographers. At the age of sixteen, I was able to practice my talent by just taking photos of my friends and family. I never once thought that I would pursuit my talent to a professional level. I had always thought that this would just be a hobby of mine until others started complimenting my images. I enjoy fashion photography much more than other types of photography. I feel the competition much more and I also am able to express what I have on my mind. I also enjoy meeting other talented artist. Like the M.U.A (make-up artist), fashion designers, hair stylist and advertisers. Being able to network with them leads me to be informed in what is going on in the fast lane. I practice other forms of photography but every time you catch me with a camera I would be shooting a model.

Week 3 Making money for good

The first company that I like the most is “Ronald McDonald’s house”. What they do is house families when they have their children in hospitals. I believe from experience, is the greatest thing ever. When my child was hospitalized, it was hard for me to travel back and forth to California to be next to my child.

The next charity would be the Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries. This charity helps low income families find work.

Week 2 Video Game Console

The Star will have to be the Nintendo Wii. They have reached incredible sales faster than any other rival.

“Nintendo (NTDOY) threw a PR party of sorts as sales of its Wii game console passed the 30-million-unit mark in the U.S. The Japanese company said it hit the “milestone” in 45 months, 15 months faster than any of its rivals.”

The dollar sign will have to go to the Sony playstation. I feel that Sony’s sales are great due to the blue-ray capability.

The Dog will have to go to the Microsoft X-box 360.

I believe that a relationship with the costumer is very important. During my comic book days I use to visit a vender many times, just because he remembered my name. I know that it is a small thing and someone usually remembers a customer but when the vender is being visited by thousands of customers a day, that little gesture is something important for a customer.

The great service that Zappos is providing is ultimately phenomenal. To offer that service to a customer will only spread the word to others and will lure others to shop at Zappos. Just by listening to the service that they are providing is just making me want to visit the website and see what all the hype is all about.
